All bull fighting should be switched to this please:

Bulls really do paw the ground before charging. Who knew? I love the band in the stands.

More proof that men are nuts.

Reminds me of the mythology of Crete and the Bull Dancers.

Did I mention the nuts thing?

Band was excellent.

Testosterone makes you do the wacky.

On the other hand... *thinks of doll collections and 'Precious Moments' figurines* Estrogen makes people do the wacky too. Still, doll collections won't gore you, typically.

Haven't I seen pictures from the minoan culture of ancient guys doing this? They also remind me a little of rodeo cowboys, only better dressed!

Apparently there are different regional styles of bullfighting. We're more familiar with the bloody one, popularized by Ernest Hemmingway, I understand. This is the Andalusian style, called recortes. I find it more brave then the other sort where the bull is half dead from blood loss by the time the matador confronts him. That's why the bulls in this vid have their heads up instead of down and are much more frisky.

I guess this style of bullfighting is called recortes. It's as traditional as the other sort, just from another region. Those bulls are magnificent--and very aggressive! I like them better when they aren't half-dead.

Here's another:
