I just saw the Buffy/Satsu page where they're nekkid in bed and Buffy is all 'Wow'. And I thought: "Oh. My. God. Isn't anyone in the Buffyverse bad in bed?" I mean Satsu is a relative neophyte right? But she's impressing Buffy? Did she go to an all-girls boarding school from the age of three or what? Xander has centuries-old [ex]demons swooning after him right out of the gate. Giles makes love like a stevedore. Willow makes Tara "com-plete". And of course our bad boys with their evil energy simply can't suck because otherwise they wouldn't be the sinful tempations that they are.

There are people who are bad in bad right, or at least unskilled?

Oh wait. Faith. Faith who steals ALL my het as soon as she gets onto the screen as NO one else can. Faith gets an 'E for effort' from Principal Wood.

Just goes to show.

So said Giles has sex like a stevedore ?
And Anya probably taught Xander everything he knows.

Well, to be fair, Buffy hasn't had sex in what, three years?

Heh. Wait for it... Joyce. :|

She probably did, but I'm guessing Anya knows an awful lot probably and she seem impressed enough with Xander from very early on.

Really? Not even a little? I find that rather surprising, or at least meaningful. Sex doesn't seem like the sort of thing Buffy would forget to do.

Faith gets an 'E for effort' from Principal Wood.

Wood was lying through his teeth in an effort to keep her hooked. *Nods* No one will convince me otherwise.

Bwahaa! Poor Faith--that's just wrong. The girl is sex on legs.

I always imagine that Riley is kind of a snooze in the sack, but you're absolutely right; everyone else is (literally or figuratively) some kind of sex machine.

It's impossible to say for sure, but she was almost certainly celibate for most and perhaps all of S7. The comics take place some indefinite time after that, but it's at least a year and possibly as much as two years later - maybe even longer. There are several thought balloons and conversations in earlier issues that make a point of how much she misses sex and how much she's fantasizing about guys. So if she's getting any, it probably wasn't often.

But I think it would have been more realistic if Satsu were the one going "Wow." All things considered, I'd think Buffy's probably the more experienced of the two, and the male delusion that all lesbians are automatically goddesses at getting other women off is, unfortunately, a male delusion...

*signs on* *buys the tshirt*

It so worked too. Faith looked ready to spend the next several years proving him wrong.

I always figured that Buffy and Riley had teen!animal sex. Fun and even impressive when you don't know any better. :)

I suppose I should mention that Parker only rated a 'nice'.

Sounds like she was just short of opportunities if she was so wistful about it rather than wary.

Heh. Yes, it would have been more realistic the other way, and more poignant too I think, since it's my understanding that Satsu is much more emotionally engaged.

A little of both, I think - one of the earlier issues has a dream sequence with Buffy propositioning Xander. Dream-Xander told her it was a terrible idea and she knew it, and Dream-Buffy proceeded to rip his head off accidentally while protesting that she could be gentle. And she breaks down and has a little crying fit in the latest issue about how everyone who loves her leaves or dies a horrible death. (This after Willow's told her that she's deliberately keeping Kennedy away from Slayer Central because she blames Buffy for Tara's death. With best friends like that, who needs enemies?) So I think it's a combination of lack of opportunity, and a fear of another romantic catastrophe.

Faith blows Xander off after his first time and Angelus may be accurate as well as cruel in his response to Buffy's first time.

But in Fantasyland everyone's good in bed. And I think you need to know something about the Buffyverse...

To be fair her first sex with Xander wasn't so very hot, if her post-coital expression is anything to go by. (Of course, Joss was making a point about how the zipless fuck is unrewarding, bad and Wrong, but still...)

True, I forgot about Faith/Xander. Apparently Anya is more forgiving.

Fantasyland? Joss would have me believe that his work is completely character-driven and that the fantastical elements are only metaphor. I have to wonder what the deeper meaning is behind making Buffy the headmistress of an all-girls school which results in her being reluctantly seduced by a hot Asian chick...

I guess the moment that sticks in my mind is when Xander is digging and Anya is extolling his sexual virtues. While this is only a few months out, perhaps that's enough time for Anya to work her magic on him. :)

*shakes head* It makes one just want to give Buffy a big hug and assure her that it's not her fault everyone who loves her leaves or dies a horrible death. It's only because she's a fictional character and functioning relationships are boring. It's kind of creepy really, to feel a character's suffering and to know there's a puppet master behind it all...
