The Mister got me Voltron United and Drawn which was fun if you're a fan. The offerings were clearly skewed towards men for whom Allura was their first fanboy crush, however there were a couple of good Lotor pics—sort of.

More Voltron viewing has not done our Prince any favors. He is Bad with a capital B. On the upside, in the first episode in which he appears he has the most yummy little fangs, which are missing in subsequent episodes. On the downside... if Spike is the Hillside Strangler, than Lotor is Attila the Hun. Lotor captures a princess with an extremely strong resemblance to Allura, her cousin in fact, and in later episodes it is revealed that he has thrown her into his dungeon (of course). He visits her and comes on to her, she slaps him (of course). Then she faints from his evil (?) after which he hauls her off all Gone With the Wind. She's tossed back into her cell an unspecified time later looking rather dazed.

Do you think he wanted an Allura look-a-like to play checkers with? And yes, this *is* an interesting theme for an after-school cartoon. Having one blond princess already doesn't stop him from pursuing the original either. If one Allura is good... I mean come on! Twins!

What IS it with me and white-haired anti-heroes? A acquired the cheesy, bowdlerized-anime cartoon series Voltron for the sprogs, which I used to adore, and behold here is yet another from my dark past: Prince Lotor. He's completely obsessed with golden-haired Princess Allura, who bats very much for the other side. I can't help it! I love his hopeless affection and shiny hair.

90% of the fic actually seems to be Keith/Allura which is to say Buffy/Riley. I mean this guy Keith is truly Captain Cardboard. He's the captain and he literally has no character at all on the show. His dialog is limited to variations on "Let's go Voltron Force!" In order to characterize him in a fic one would have to make up something.

Nevertheless, Lotor does have his fangurls (self included omg) and much like my fellow Spuffy-ites, these fangurls have deeply rational reasons for thinking a sane, attractive young woman ought to throw herself into a relationship with a snarky mass-murderer. One reports yelling at her television as an adolescent, hoping to give poor Allura a clue. Her final, crowning selling point? "He's blue!!!"
