I just found this scan of The Tales of the Vampires

The thing is... the link came from a fic rec page so I read it thinking, and believing 'til the very end, that it was a spoof. I thought the dialog, and perhaps even some of the art, was a fan creation.

I'm not sure how this makes me feel. :/

Yeah, I don't blame you for thinking that. That one was pretty, um, cartoonish. The others in the series were a little more in keeping with the show itself, if I remember right.

Huh; was that supposed to be Buffy? I think the black slayer was Martha, from Doctor Who...

I have the actual comics which are supposed to be season 8 but I only ever read the first one. Too busy to get much further. From what I saw in that book and based on the covers of the others, the art work is really good.


It's not the same though...I mean, it reads sort of true to the characters, and you can tell Joss worked on it. But...*shrugs*

That was terrible. The characters look nothing like Buffy, Xander or Dracula. The dialogue is broad and not funny at all. It seems very amateur.

That's good. This particular one makes it seem that the extremes allowed by the medium have caused them to make Buffy a parody of itself. O.o

Hee! I never said I didn't think it was a funny parody. :) I liked it quite a bit as such. Xander really does need a Dracula in his life.

Yes, it's like a skilled parody/fluff fic. I don't know if this is part of the 'season 8' comics or not. Maybe the 'Tales' are a separate thing.

Yeah, I thought it was entertaining when I thought it was a fan parody. I thought perhaps the real dialog had been replaced. You know, the dialog with the heart and the darkness that kept Buffy from being clever but forgettable.
