This is Grimilkin at 13. I had him for 19 years. He moved into my first apartment with me and traveled with me full circle around the Western United States and finally passed away less than 20 miles from where he was born. I thought he was awesome.



ETA: Check out the size of those paws! He had two extra toes on each foot. A whole extra paws' worth of damage potential.

A beautiful black panther in miniature. I know what it is to lose a cat who's been a constant companion in your life for many years. The end of an era. Reading of someone elses loss reminds me of my own, and that's all it takes, years later, for fresh tears.

I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a lucky boy to be with a loving companion and guardian all his days.

Thank you so much for your condolences, and I am sorry too for your own loss. I got all sniffly writing about him. He was lucky! And so was I. :) If any cat needed a guardian it was Grimilkin.

he is really lovely, his profile especially. What a noble bearing he has. I'm sorry to hear he's no longer with you, but 19 years is a pretty good run for a cat - and it's obvious he was a great companion to you, and you to him, in that time.

I can't say I was lucky enough to have Shadow in my life quite that long - perhaps 13 years. But he was a great cat, and we did a lot of growing up together. He left me in 2004 when I found Steve, who would be my future husband - almost as though Shadow knew his job was done. Gone, but never ever forgotten.

Sorry to hear that your Grimilkin is already gone; but with 19 he had a long life. You're lucky that you had him for so long.
