I planted carrots for me and radishes for A. Purple carrots. I have this weakness for purple veggies: breed it and I will come. Purple broccoli, purple cauliflower, purple carrots, purple bush beans... No purple radishes, though A is convinced I foisted some on him at one time. I think he's just remembering some silly nightmare long ago dream. Of course there are no purple radishes. But if there were, I would buy them.

Rose Campion, Chives, Honey Melon Sage (OMG the leaves smell incredible)

It is impossible to be tasteful in magenta. :)

Lettuce I growed myself, plus marigolds that I battled mightily with the slugs over. I won, but not without reinforcements in the form of replacement plants. Guess it's good that I planted extra.

And finally, the 'Lotor' planter. It sticks out like a sore alien, and is soon to be 'Emerald City' green.

Gorgeous!

I actually bought purple cauliflower today; I don't know that it actually tastes any different, but it just looks pretty. I think I'll steam it instead of roasting!

I often buy purple carrots and my CSA gives me purple beans.

Purple radishes!

Wel sort of

"The deep purple stems and dark green leaves of Purple Radish Microgreens will add colour and flavour to a variety of dishes.

Living greens are eaten as young seedlings prior to the first true leaves, when they are full of an intense range of flavours. These are quick and easy to grow indoors all the year round."

Ohhhh

Plum Purple Radish
"Origin: France
Item #: RADISH003
Plum Purple is a fantastic, rare French heirloom radish variety that features a bright purple root with crisp white flesh. This radish variety remains crisp and sweet all season long, never becoming woody or bitter to the taste. The Plum Purple Radish features a hot, spicy taste and is a very hardy radish that can be grown in any climate. Matures in only 25 days, making it our earliest radish! "

Garden!pron!!!! I'm all tingly!!!!

I LOVE the rock wall. They're another thing for me. Did you do that yourself, too?

Everything is doing well here, but the only thing in bloom are the foxgloves, which are very dear to me indeed. *pets them*

I'm trying to figure out if Lotor would be flattered or perturbed at the planter's current color?

*continued rose campion love*

Are your purple carrots called "purple haze"? I planted some of that variety myself this year.

Great garden pics!

I love Thompson and Morgan. :) The marigolds in the picture are from them. I also love their 'Starfire' Marigolds with single flowers and the yummiest marigold scent to the leaves.

I think steaming makes it turn green, but I don't remember for certain. I also love the 'fractal' cauliflower, which also comes in various colors. :) I've never tried roasting, sounds interesting.

The slugs ate all my purple beans! I was too embarrassed to go around to where I planted them at night with a flashlight because it's right by my tenant's house. :/ 'Oh, it's just our crazy landlady. With a flashlight. By our bedroom window.'

They were! From Territorial Seed.

Thanks!

I did! The brick and stones were all part of a walkway around where the gravel is now. I joke that I will probably never find the last brick. When I took out the concrete stepping stones a month ago, I found a couple more on the edge.

I think he might be egotistical enough to take it as his due. Probably it is too humble a homage to flatter him.

Yeah. *sigh* It's purty. There's a white variety which I believe misses the whole point.

Really pretty! I really dig that little "rock" flower bed....did you just gather those up here and there, or did you buy them somewhere. Also...are they free-stacked, or is there some sort of mortar/cement holding them together? That's kind of the look I want in my back yard. :)

Wow! Everything is gorgeous! All the beds have gotten so big and lush, with so much color and POP! Your lettuces are so pretty, hon. They look very healthy. Mmm.

I love, love, love the brick framed beds- they look fantastic! And call me crazy, but I actually like the Lotor color. *hides* But a green would look good, too! :D

Thanks! I like the Lotor color too! It's very purty IMHO. But it's so pastel and everything else is so intense and earthy. I just don't feel like it goes and I don't want it to be what stands out. Anyway! Glad you like. :)

Thanks so much! Those are big river stones that were originally stepping stones. They were 'free with purchase' when I bought the house so I don't know their origin. There was a whole lotta rock in that yard. I'm guessing the previous owner went to a landscaping company and bought a big pile, though there are a lot of big rivers around here. They are free stacked.

I love the 'Lotor' planter! Are you sure you want to repaint it? I don't think it takes away anything from your garden. I think it enhances it. With green, it would blend in with everything else. The blue adds a nice color. It's not overpowering. It's just subtle. Your choice. Awesome garden.
