Dollhouse circa 1958
May. 25th, 2009 06:14 pmI was watching Missile to the Moon the other night. It's one of those movies where a nice phallic rocket boldly goes to a place populated entirely by international beauty queens. As always, the different body styles struck me. I'm glad they have a non-skinny woman on Dollhouse, but I wish the writers and wardrobe department didn't treat her like she was fat. I have yet to see her in a pair of jeans or a cute little top, much less the skin-tight garb favored in MttM. A points out that the 'Mellie' assignment is of a non-assertive person, but is this a coincidence? And in the episode where the actives were escaping and were themselves, Sierra and Echo apparently opted for snug jeans and knit tops, but 'Mellie' is dressed for church, and on Easter Sunday, and not one of those hip churches (I feel sure they exist).
