Bounce-a-palooza!
Nov. 30th, 2009 07:28 pmToday I took 4yo to 'Bounce-a-palooza.' An enterprising individual looked at all the vacant retail space at the local mall and thought of a good way to put the high ceilings to use. What used to be a large 'Old Navy' outlet is now filled with an assortment of huge inflatable obstacle course/slides/bouncing castles. For a small fee per hour, one can turn one's children loose in this blow-up paradise. 4yo had never been, and he insisted I go on all the slides with him. Thus I found myself crawling through a cushy red-rimmed hole between an inflated 17-foot Batman's muscular thighs (look, I didn't design the thing). To tell the truth, it was way fun. The 20 foot, nearly vertical slide was enough to give me that strange but exhilarating feeling that my insides were being squished against my diaphragm. I was looking for a picture of the Batman bouncy thing, and was struck by this design. Huh. Truly time heals all wounds. Perhaps I will live to see the Twin Towers thrill ride.
