botiasI really enjoyed this short BtVS fic: Five in One by selenak, partly because I found it validating. I found it validating because I go through this mental process as a fangirl: I ♥ Spike --> Oh noes! Spike is a very horrific monster! --> As long as I don't lose sight of what he is, then it's all OK!
Other folks deal with this another way: I ♥ Spike --> Oh noes! Spike is a very horrific monster! --> La-La-La Not listening! And honestly, that's an equally valid way of dealing with this little problem. For these folks, the above-recommended fic may not be useful, though it does, of course, retain all of its other merits.
Why my mental process is a little silly: Spike is a fictional construct. Spike's Real Life stats:
People killed: 0
People maimed: 0
Orgasms inspired: 552,725*
*Yeah, it was kinda fun coming up with this number. And if everyone had just stopped wanking/fantasizing/sexing when this number was reached, it would even be accurate.
