The Mister has his usual PC Tech stories: PCs that stopped working because they were full of mummified frogs, etc., and today he helped a nice lady whose computer wouldn't turn on. He bought a new power supply on the way there which pretty much guaranteed that her problem would be that she had never used the power button on the computer before, and indeed didn't even know it had one.

And I've got other stuff I could probably write about, but I really ought to get back to work. The kids are growing like weeds, yet also I have seeds still sealed in their packets. The sun shines now, as it did for most of a rare, sunny December, but there is much, much rain ahead before it shuts off in mid May. It turns out that my house temperature is set too low in the Winter for breeding mice. A heating pad has been installed in an attempt to put them in a more tropical mood.

Did I ever tell you I adored the movie Buck? It's a documentary about a horse trainer, and wow, it reached into me and took hold. I think it would speak to anyone who has ever been afraid and who has wanted to create a place of safety and respect for others. I've also been gobbling up books by trainer Mark Rashid right now, which is in a similar vein.

My good RL friend [livejournal.com profile] dirtlifegrl does customer service for a local ISP because she has a degree in some kind of environmental thing which I've forgotten. Anyway she has a lot of stories like that; it's a little scary.

I have blooming flowers. It's really odd; geraniums don't ever survive my winters much less bloom in january!

I have a fern leaf lavender that I keep waiting for it to get frost burned, but it's blooming its head off instead. I saw a hummingbird feeding from it today. I don't know if it's an unusually mild year or if I just found the perfect micro climate for it, or both! Still I'm not complaining.
