BN: Someone posted a Google review about the Mister's Computer Super Genius home business stating that we had two large unfixed dogs that repeatedly terrorized the neighborhood, that our household included avid patrons of local drug houses, and that we shouldn't be trusted with anyone's home or business. Thanks to Google's approximate street numbering, I think they were confusing us with the house next door. (May she RIP) At least they had the courtesy to concede that they had never actually done business with him.

GN: The review has been taken down! Yay!

GN: I can haz solar! When the sun shines, the electric meter she do run backwards-eth. I'm SO excited!

GN: I went to the midnight show of The Avengers and the crowd was a lot of fun. People dressed up and there was great energy. AND THE MOVIE ROCKED. The action was excellent, and I laughed out loud a number of times, including a sustained giggle fit or two. Joss was on his best behavior.

Okay, here's some more BN: Remember we vanquished the English Ivy Monster? Well, we seem to have unleashed the Acanthus Kraken. The ivy was holding the acanthus in check it seems, and now the Acanthus is trying to eat my yard. Apparently it's one of those plants where every little bit of root will sprout...

Yeah when we beat back the english ivy monster, the honeysuckle decided it could take over...

Good for you getting the Google review taken down. WTF is wrong with people reviewing a business they've never done business with?

Yes, the solar panels do make your garage look phat! They're awesome!

We have a flame acanthus that I wish would take over my yard (it's a totally different looking plant from the purple cone flowered plant I bet you're referring to). Otherwise the poor place is a dustbowl.

There was much consternation in our household, believe me.

I love the solar panels! There's another ten on the other side. It matches!

Nope, I think we may have the same stuff. Really big leaves? Neat flower spikes? I think the other plant is agapanthus. I just have a wussy climate that doesn't give anything the smack down. I think my favorite genus is native to your area though. I love agastaches--which my climate gives the smack down to in the form of buckets and buckets of water.

Thanks!

That's the way it goes isn't it?

Mine doesn't have big leaves at all: http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ANQUW It's pretty cool and the hummingbirds love it. We lost our lawn to drought about five years ago (I refuse to feed potable water to grass), so now I'm letting whatever wants to live take over. The acanthus is happy with my level of neglect!
