Got my first paycheck today. Let's see, our househould income is now less than a quarter of what it once was. Talk about yer lifestyle adjustments. Babies are expensive, Connor has technically cost about $70,000 in lost wages in his short little life (which is not really fair, because we would have moved anyway). Dang. Let me ruminate on that for a second. We are nuts aren't we? Hee! And I thought Grimilkin was expensive. :) He's probably only cost me around $4000 in vet bills over the years and perhaps $1500 in cat food. Little plastic bag ingestion here, little abcessed cat bite there (and here, and over a bit, and...) Other than the lost wages thing, babies aren't all that expensive if you care for them properly. If you don't stash them in a nasty septic, day orphanages, and nurse them so that they get the antibodies and stuff that they need, they don't generally get sick and don't need expensive formula. Ah, I love my little boy so much! I wish I could give him a hug right now. (Real life being what it is, he's probably having a screaming fit right this second or something, but I would squeeze him anyway.)

Date night tonight. What to do, hmmmm. I'm not really in the mood for chess and ice cream. I think I'm still down by 2 games. I don't really have the patience to play well, I think. Perhaps a dinner date. There's always the Croc Hunter movie, which opens this evening, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to pay full price for it. In the good ol' days I wouldn't have thought twice, but... I have been exposed to theories that it will be out on video in about 2 weeks anyway.
