My credit card is missing. I wonder if it is in my zip drive or under my rug. *sigh* It's my own fault, but I do manage to keep my wallet out of Connor's reach most of the time. Last time Connor cleaned out my wallet Alan had a pretty savvy way of figuring out where he'd stashed everything. He fished his library card out and gave it to Connor who promptly stashed it with the rest of the stuff (under the rug).
My birth certificate is also missing, but I have no one but myself to blame for that one as far as I know. I'm guessing it was in an anonymous file folder from beinging transported to the DMV, etc. and the file folder got tossed. Things to do: Get new copy, apply for a social security number for Aidan, make appt. for cats' shots, buy crickets for the spider, buy stamps for the businesses, take clock in to be fixed, buy new (to me) car or fix current one, get wills notarized (yes, still), do something about Alan's braces.
Why do I need a new copy? Because I found out that the state of California wants to buy health insurance for us because we are poor and have children. But first I need to send them a copy of my birth certificate. I'm not terribly fond of anything that smacks of public assistance, but I'm so damned relieved to have health insurance that I just don't care. Health care costs scare me. I just got done shelling out $700+ for Aidan's trip to the emergency room and there was nothing actually wrong with him. If there had been, we could easily have been wiped out financially.
