On the way home we stopped at Borders Big Box Retailer O'Books. Ostensibly to change Aidan's diaper in hopes of appeasing him, but since we were in the parking lot... hey, why not go inside? Alan got his new Star Wars book, but their romance section sucks. Christeen Feehan and Maggie Shayne both have new books out and they weren't even in their computer. Periodically I would glance up and see a 3-year-old flash between the stacks wearing red shoes and carrying a stuffed dalmation under each arm. After about 40 minutes and almost as many sitings, always with the dalmations and with no slackening of pace, it began to get a bit surreal and I started to giggle whenever I saw him. Then it was my turn to do laps around the store in his wake. This proved to be quite fun. Romance, Sci-Fi, DVDs, Magazines, Art, New Releases, Cooking, Childrens, Young Adult, we toured it all at a dizzying pace. I conquered the urge to buy him the dalmation toys and anything else his little heart desired.
