Son be a dentist
Jan. 11th, 2011 06:26 pmI was getting all excited about a big tax return, but tonight A asked me to take a peek at one of his teeth. Sure enough, the porcelain crown has a nice chunk broken off of it. I had better get him in to the dentist before I spend it on anything more fun. I won't stereotype, but he doesn't seem very apt to make his own doctor or dentist appointments, and I've let him have his way for five or six years now. This means that he goes not at all while the boys and I go every six months. Time to take it in hand. At least he's good with the hygiene part, and in fairness I think he did alright until his dentist retired.
I've been hearing a lot about how political discourse has gotten so vile and uncivilized. Now, I'm a big fan of civil discourse. I devote no small portion of my free time to the League of Women Voters, a lead purveyor of civil and balanced political dialog. But, I find myself wondering if it was ever REALLY better, and if so, when. Apparently, not in year 1800...
