I met some lovely people last night. Too bad I wouldn't recognize them if I met them on the street today. I spent the day working on the latest painting project, but after a long, hot soak, I still felt up to driving out of the 'city lights' to see the Perseid Meteor Shower. It was 9:30 by the time 12YO and I got up to the top of the mountain, where the local astronomer's society meets up above the ocean haze. The meteors were pretty cool, with long, fiery tails. I saw a gorgeous moonrise sometime after two. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and had wonderful chats between meteors, all in complete darkness. Of course, there's an ap for that, stargazing that is. You can point your smart phone at the sky and it uses the GPS to tell you what you are looking at and also celestial objects below the horizon as well. I don't have that ap. As 9YO informed me, I have a 'dumb phone'. But my phone is orange and sounds like frogs, and I must obey it.
In other news, I can take power washing a house off of my bucket list. :P It was cold, soggy work, and your arms stop wanting to work after a while, but so much easier than cleaning a house any other way. And, wow, effective. That was a grimy little house.
