I'm in the biz

I've been digging and dividing dahlia tubers for the last week. Somehow, when I wish I had more and more dahlias, I never think about this part. I listed my extras on Craigslist for the first time and today I made my first sale! 20 smackeroos. It will be interesting to see how it works out. There's not much flowering yet on the decorative side of things, but the fruiting stuff can't wait around I guess, work to be done: apples, pears, peaches, pluots, blueberries, blackberries, are all blooming away. In other news, the hospital here in town is looking into allowing my labor pool service. Could be interesting. Tonight, I'm writing an overview of my service to submit. I won't hold my breath. Understandably, hospitals rush into nothing. I think it took a couple of years for the progressive hospital I work with to develop a waterbirth program. Ah well, the ox is slow, but the earth is patient.

Less fun, I think I'm having my first sinus infection. At first I thought it was just my cold. The horrid headaches went away after the first week, but I still feel a bit weird and easily tired. I keep thinking I ought to go get an antibiotic perhaps, but every day I feel just a little bit better more myself, so I'm reluctant to go to the trouble.

13YO is taller than I am, and his shoe size has exceeded the Mister's. My goodness! 5 foot 7 something. I can't help but be proud, like he is a prize pumpkin or something. I'm so proud of my handsome boys. They are so much nicer than I was at their age. Nicer to each other, and to their parents (thank goodness). Although my mom tells me that 8YO is much like I was, and you can tell she gets a certain punitive satisfaction from that.
