So excited!
Apr. 14th, 2014 12:27 pmI'm getting lots done in my garden, and it's looking awesome. Most of my dahlias are in the ground including almost 40 new varieties. Did I mention I'm excited? And I've been selling tubers on craigslist this year for the first time. About $400 worth so far! Not a profit, I'm sure, but at least an offset. My mama is funny. She mentioned that she wanted to go on a day trip to San Francisco to celebrate the end of a busy tax season at her office. I suggested this would combine well with the California Dahlia Society tuber sale this weekend that I was hoping to attend. Perhaps we could go together? Now all three kids are coming, there are two nights at a hotel, and to put the cap on it: "You weren't actually planning on buying any plants or anything were you? I don't think there will be room in the car with all the luggage." Oh no, I was only going to the sale to sniff the tubers. Hah! There will be room in the car. Poor mama, in addition to her tax time labors, she's been living in an episode of Justified lately. First, someone left a body on the country road outside her house, then fleeing pot growers went by her on the freeway at 100 mph+ :( (please to legalize soonist) and then a bobcat got her last two chickens. She needs a vaycay.
