Jul. 15th, 2002 11:24 amNew Thing I Learned: When conquistador types first saw rubber balls in the new world they thought that they were possessed because they seemed to move on their own.
Had a very good time yesterday. We all met Mark at Bon
Boniere and then went to the Discovery [kids] Museum. I have never been anywhere with a crawl through colon before. Alan's never grown out of this stuff so I got to watch both of them play. We dumped a million golf balls down a giant ramp, through a loop-D-loop and into a bucket. Connor thought that was just too cool. My favorite part was the toy section. I bought him a cool dinosaur puppet with orange googly eyes, a whole bunch of plastic critters to add to his collection, including spiders, frogs and snakes (current favorites), a Magic Spring (generic brand slinky), and a bunch of rubber bouncy balls with which to destroy my favorite knick knacks, knock over plants, etc. Mark got him a riding toy which Connor actually climbed right into and played with. Usually he's got to think about these things for awhile. After lunch/dinner we headed up to Alan's grandma's where I collapsed onto the sofa and slept for an hour. I missed Connor playing with his new puppet. He doesn't yet get putting his thumb in the lower jaw, so he was going around 'chomping' his relations with the dinosaur's upper jaw. Further he got to see the horses and cows. I think he had a pretty good day.
Job is still excruciatingly boring. I keep getting emails telling me I'm signed up for this or that. So far: Defensive Driving, Employee Orientation, IIPP training (your guess is as good as mine).
