New Things I Learned: Using a Weed Whacker while wearing shorts is just dumb. There are no ties in golf (?)

Bleh, bleh, bleh. I'm really appreciating the more casual atmosphere at my old job. I didn't think twice about dashing out for ice cream or running over to the market for munchies or writing an email to a friend. I have the regretable feeling here as though people are keeping an eye on me to see that I'm being properly productive all the time. (Wonder where I got that idea) Breaks are exactly 15 minutes long, there are two of them, and they should not be taken to close to lunch or departing for the day. Checks have to be numbered in erasable red ink, everything must be stacked so that it's facing the exact same direction. I thought I was anal. I have to admit, when I meet people in the hall now I wonder if they are the one that ratted me out to my boss. Please let Alan get a job. Please. And let it not be nearly as lame as this one.

I guess that's all there was. :P

For the sake of us unsophisticated masses - why?

There are no ties in golf.

But there are tees! Haw haw haw! Okay, I'll stop now.

Yeesh... I wish Alan the best of luck in getting a job so you can get out of that hole. Argh. Though (I admit with a sigh) it sure does sound like a Humboldt County job, y'know? They know it's small-time, so they make up for the gnawing ache of provinciality by being petty assholes. I had a couple of jobs that weren't like that, but most of them were. :\

Well, it seems that the bits of greenery that are cut by the revolving monofilament line are often accelerated to a similar speed and issued in all directions. It's kinda uncomfortable when they hit one's bare legs. Technically it probably increases the odds of sustaining and actual injury as well.

Yah, I do believe you are right *sigh*. I was wondering if perhaps the company I worked for was just unusually cool, and it may very well have been, but the jobs my mom has gotten here are all just as lame as this. The job she has now, they don't allow personal items like family pictures in your workspace. I guess it's not an actual rule, per se, but no one does it. I feel like I'm back in elementary school or something. Maybe we should move to Portland. :) Now that I've got my mom firmly hooked on regular access to Connor, I wouldn't be surprised if I could lure her in that direction.

Aaaah - yes, that makes perfect sense. And rocks, and other bits of debris. Ick.

There are worthwhile jobs to be had in HoCo, they're just hard to find and very highly sought-after. You... grandson-pusher, you. ;) "Wanna hold your grandchild? The first one's free!"

Hey... do you get notifications of comments in your email? I hope so, 'cause I don't know what your email address is, and I'm a bit worried. You've probably just been too busy to mess around with LJ for the last two weeks, right? If I don't hear from you soon, I'm going to have to call Alan's mother. ;)
