Here I am. Trapped in a tiny, enclosed space with the freshest of cat crap. The aroma is truly amazing when concentrated in this way. Yes, it is my birthday. Somehow, when I was making appointments, I didn't make the connection so my b-day schedule includes pet vaccinations and smog tests. In a fit of sentimentality I made an appt. with the vet that they used to see when I lived here before, the vet in McKinleyville, now 50 minutes away, plenty of time for a nervous feline to void its bowels. But the vet was pleased that I had remembered his practice. He says it's kind of a bummer when he sees clients whose pets he has taken home overnight and nursed from the brink calling to transfer their records because they've moved to Arcata. Tacky's starting to get cataracts, but otherwise they seem to be in excellent shape for their age.
