BSG Whining
Jul. 19th, 2006 10:01 amI have tried twice to watch BSG. Both times they've managed to completely turn me off within 15 minutes. The first time was the premier episode when that sexbot (or whatever) was crawling all over the balding pudgy diplomat (or whatever) right before the whole thing go boom. Uh, get to know me a little better before telling me about your sexbot/explody fantasies.
I tried again. They were murdering babies within fifteen minutes. I freaked out and had to turn it off. I'll go dark places with a show, but they have to earn my trust first. I have to know that they don't just trot this stuff out for cheap chills.

Date: 2006-07-20 08:29 am (UTC)It's a very intense, plot-intensive series, and I truly admire it for that; however, unless you can make the commitment to watch it Every Week Come Hell Or Hurricaine Dammit, or to endure marathon episode-watching sessions, or I guess take notes, it's not worth it. Seriously, I loved it, and watched the first, oh, six, seven episodes, maybe more... then missed a few... then was like "Wait, WTF is happening here??" and now I've just given up.
Also, it's pretty damn depressing and grim.
