I have drawn about a bajillion horses/unicorns/pegusi in my life, most before the age of 12. Then I think I switched to dragons for a bit, and dabbled in some painting. Then I had to do things like make money, and attend classes that cost money, and that was pretty much the end of that.

Anyway, Lotor dresses a bit like an villain from some sort of B fantasy movie, so I thought he would look just fine on a destrier.

Oh wow....you're good! Allura looks both beautiful and worried. And that horse is magnificent. And cant wait until Lotor has a face. Will you be coloring this too? I love it!

Thank you! Glad you like. I just did Allura's face today. The faces intimidate me, so I've left them for last. But I'm a little reassured by how Allura turned out. I do plan to color it. :) When I drew regularly, I often did pencil first, inked over it when I was happy with it and then erased the pencil. I think I will attempt to ink in photoshop, or at least color in photoshop.

The horse is supposed to be quite big, but Lotor is kinda making it look like a pony. O.o That's horse No. 2. I erased and redrew cuz the first attempt was too small I think. The line at his collar bone is about where most rider's heads are when riding.

*ahem* I've actually got another pic in about the same stage of completion if you would like to see. I'm embarrassed that it's at the same stage, as in, haven't drawn his face yet.

Oooh yes please! As for me, I just have to spellcheck and read for mistakes, and I can then post 74! \o/

Yay!

Here's the other:

It's based directly on the wedding scene, but I'm not quite happy with Lotor yet. Plus he really needs a face. :P

Oooh lovely. Though I am more partial to the horse one! XD

And chapter 74 is up! \o/

I am more partial to the horse one too! Might be why it's more done when I'm pretty sure I started the wedding one first.

So cool!!!! Allura does look dubious, and Lotor's body language is...determined. Hmm. Wonder where he's taking her, and what for?? P-)

The horse's eyes are amazing, and I love the suggestion of the tail -- it's so fluid. And the contrast of the preciseness of the tack and bridle. And Lotor's broad shoulders *ahem*

Thanks! Lotor has lots of determined body language--and broad shoulders. These are some of my favorite things. >:)

I'm sure he's got some stimulating games of checkers in mind, probably already planning his first moves.

DRAW MORE DRAW MORE DRAW MORE

Hypnotoad commands you. O.O

I still have those dragons. ;)

Something I learned about art a while back, and still have to remind myself occasionally: you don't have to do it for a living, or even do it that much, or spend any money on it really. Just do it when you get the urge, and keep some basic tools on hand. I lecture from a position of knowing whereof I speak and not actually doing it all that much, so I guess I'm speaking from a position of fail. :P

I'm so happy you still have them. :) They were fun.

I agree that it wouldn't be hard to continue with. But it's also true that many of my opportunities disappeared, no more long bus rides or boring classes. But, my kids draw a great deal, at least the eldest does. I'm trying to relearn some of my fearlessness from him.

Oh how awesome. :) I recommend a book: Art and Fear, by David Bayles & Ted Orland; I just re-ordered it, after having foolishly donated my first copy to the library. It's an interesting read, sympathetic and tough at the same time, and has good ideas about how to think about art, if you're in a stuck head-place. There might be a copy in the local library system. And yeah, I know about the opportunities... I have to force time to write, even though I enjoy doing it, you know?

Fabulous horse and the Allura pose is very nice. I like the differences in size between them. Lotor is impressive compared to Allura and the horse!

Thanks! I think I got the L/A proportions correct, he's a pretty big alien, but I think I may make the horse a smidge bigger using Photoshop. XD
