Movies and stuff

botiasOh yay! There will be a new Miyazaki film in U.S. theaters in time for my birthday. I will definitely be seeing this one in the theater. If my three sprogs are very good boys, I may take them with me.
Saw Angels and Demons which I thought was less cheesy and more entertaining than the first movie. Plus some Ewan McGregor never goes amiss, though I don't believe he sang in this movie. Less enjoyable was High Fidelity, a John Cusack flick from awhile back. We ended up turning this one off for one reason or another, and when A asked me the next day if I planned to finish it, I responded, "Only if the next plot development involves the main character dieing in a fiery explosion." You see, the MC is examining why all of his relationships fail. At the midpoint of the movie he concludes, correctly I might add, "I am a fucking asshole." Yet, he seems completely oblivious to the fact that he has found the answer he's been seeking. Also saw Knowing which seemed pretty pointless unless you like disaster porn or Christianity porn, though there was a very pretty, preternatural young man with white hair and a taste for black overcoats over black clothing.
