I stuck it out this far. But I found the last two episodes really squicked me. Especially the one that had the lovely serial killer storyline interwoven with the teacher/student yuck fest. I was starting to feel like Dollhouse, while it had some things going for it intellectually and visually, was basically a weekly rape fest. Who wants to watch that? OK don't answer. It has a number of really disturbing assaults against women in it. Some of the more disturbing and drawn out that I've seen. And for what? So we can see Eliza Dushku in lots of different outfits? I'm all for that really, but wow, it just was not nearly enough. Joss, my goodness, what was going through your mind???

Well, if you've read my post, you know how ambivalent I am about this. How many times have I thought about posting a scathing review, only to hold back? But at least there was an attempt to relate it to something larger, no matter how misguided. That's what I'll miss. That's balls, at least in today's T.V. mentality.

The abuse du jour? I'll not miss at all If Joss identifies him self as a femininst, I would have to reply ala Diego Montoya in Princess Bride:

"I do not think this word means what you think it means."

Balls? I'll give it that. I don't know if I just don't watch the right TV, but Joss's shows make me think and move me in a way others never have. Even this show did that. But, but... Grrr Arghh!! The show needed some heroes, stat. Firefly showed some pretty ugly humanity, but it had a balance with its reluctant heroes that Dollhouse was seriously lacking, plus characterization and motivation and things like that, plus a lack of weekly violent assaults. I have hopes for Joss's next endeavor. I think he meant well. Or maybe he wasn't sure exactly what he meant. I think he's said as much in interviews. With Buffy he had a clear vision. Take the 'victim' and make her the ass kicker. Explore the hell that is high school using the hellmouth as a metaphor. I think that helped.

I couldn't agree more. It was vile.

I watched because-- Joss. But while it had moments I never really felt bonded to show, and it squicked too often for comfort. If it'd been anyone other than Joss I'd have given up an episode or two into the first season!

Yes, me too. We should get fan points or something. Or perhaps a gentle boot to the behind. :)

I think she means the Sierra Episode is the the last one they aired, where we learned she became a doll cause the obssessed guy wanted her so bad.

SO, since it's cancelled, does this mean we won't even get to see the episode advertised for December 4th? 0_o
