Cat Update

So far the cat thing is working out surprisingly well. This is the invisible cat. It is a small cat with small neat paws, and its fur is mottled gray and beige. It does not meow, but makes sounds as though someone is hugging it too hard, or it chirps and trills. It does NOT wake me up by patting me on the face with just the veriest hint of claw. It has yet to puke on anything or come home with battle wounds to be patched up. It likes to be petted and scratched and has made itself disconcertingly at home. Doesn't it know we could all be serial killers? Unconcerned, it lazes on my sunny bed and catches spiders in my sunny garden. It has revealed itself to be litter trained and now stays inside at night. Regular applications of kitty kibble have turned it sleek and shiny, and Advantage has stopped the constant scratching. We have named it Jones.

Lol, cats do tend to show up where they know they can find a meal. Just make sure he is neutered, and vaccinated against everything espically since he is an outside/inside cat. You might also want to get him microchipped. It can be done relatively cheaply, only that you have to pay a fee per a year to keep him in a database from whatever company your vet gets the chip from. Good luck, I hope he will have many years with you. And is a smart cat who doens't wonder off, or prefers to stay inside mostly. Also get him tested for feline leukmia and FIV. That way if you know he has it, it won't be a surprise if he becomes sick.

Yes, I need to get Jones tested/vaccinated. I called a vet yesterday out of the yellow pages and got the vet. Not a receptionist. I said I was looking for a vet. "Can't help you, I'm on vacation until Monday." Uh, well, how about if I call back Monday? "Alright." :| And of course I don't know if she is spayed. Be easier to tell with a male. Thanks for the good wishes. The cat does seem like a smart and cautious cat, aside from her willingness to move in with strangers on a whim.

She does seem like a very nice sort of cat. She does have one flaw that I had forgotten to mention. She's one of those cats that's very underfoot. Likes to follow one about by weaving in and out of their footsteps.

In my experience that's every cat ever :)

Hee! True. In one of the computer adventure games I played as a kid, one of the obstacles was the sorcerer's black cat. If you encountered the cat on the stairs, you were likely to trip and plummet to your doom.

Welcome to Jones.

Ditto to vet visit just to clear concerns and on to a happy future!

Not as good as my Lego figure's name. I was playing Lego 'men' with 4yo and 6yo and they asked what my character's name was. "Cindy" Apparently this was not adventurous enough. (My character is a member of the Alpha Team and is apparently some sort of international woman of mystery.) They immediately dubbed her Cindy-Anna Jones instead.
