Garden nerd

I got deep into garden planning today. I even made a spreadsheet with my wish lists from 5 different dahlia catalogs and compared and contrasted and squinted and wracked. I had it narrowed down to about 31 varieties, taking careful advantage of discounts.

Then I recalled that I have room for approximately zero new plants. That made it all so much more simple all of the sudden. :P

Hope you all have an excellent Thanksgiving. We will be eating brunch at my folks' before feasting with my inlaws. My mouth is watering already. The Mister breads a bunch of stuff with cracker crumbs and fries it to a beautiful crispy golden brown and there will be tasty gravy, creamy potatoes, homemade gnocchi and raviolis, and I made an apple pie tonight. There will be assorted animal carcasses as well, I suppose, but I will contrive to be at the opposite end of the table and be perfectly content, and the Mister's family will exclaim over the vegetarian stuff and even like some of it. Ah, family. :)

Happy Thanksgiving! It's funny that you mentioned gardening; I was just out in the herb garden in the front of my house digging up fresh parsnips for today's cooking. I planted them back in 2009 but never harvested them all, and they come back every year in spades.

That sucks that you don't have enough room for all the plants you want. You always have such beautiful flowers. I love your garden pictures.

That's cool! I always read about your gardening efforts with interest as well. I may even get some chickens!

I'm feeling much more optimistic today. If I order it, there will be space! Or something like that. I placed two more orders.

I do that thing where I plan for about two dozen new plants and then remember I have NOWHERE to put them. All. The. Time.

Sometimes I buy them anyway...things die every year, after all, and something needs to be put in their place. :nods:
