Fluttershy is my favorite.
Dec. 5th, 2011 08:24 am6YO has Rainbow Dash wallpaper, 8YO likes Pinkie Pie. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a thing around my house these days. The kids are all Bro-nies. It's my fault. I assumed the show would be a little snarky since it has an adult following, but it's not especially, though it is smart and attractive and does subvert conventions. It's not even LOL funny most of the time, one just finds oneself wearing a happy little smile through the whole episode. This morning we tried to decide what their evil twins would be: Rainbow Death, Cutie Die... 6YO has some ponies now, and I don't go too many days without combing some technicolor plastic hair. It's kind of addicting. Today we all piled onto my bed and watched the latest episode. 6YO was clutching one of the little mini catalogs that comes with each pony. He pores over them. I used to do the same with the ones that came with my Breyer horses.
My flist has been so quiet for the past week or so. I miss you flisties! I hope you are all busy with holiday stuff.
I can't imagine how this is going to be of interest to anyone, but I'm so excited!

- dahlia tubers - seeds
- new MP3 player (thank you for stealing my old one out of my car, random person!)
- antique hardware
- 5 pair like-new spiffy jeans Free!
- newer, faster computer Free! (One of the Mister's clients was going to throw it away.)
- solar electric system Free!
- braces for 11YO Free!
- worm compost bin Good deal!
- seaweed - coffee grounds Free! (And one of these was even legal)
- new LJ theme Free! (you guys look so much more suave and Web 2.0 now)
- Chest freezer (My first Black Friday sale purchase. It's crazy nice to be able to get things out of the fridge freezer without unloading it completely, plus now we can store bulk-prepared foods like raviolis.)
- My car's long-standing electrical issue, solved! Almost free! (It's crazy nice to be able to lock it with the remote again, plus to not have the 'open door' light blinking all the time. A few days ago, the darkness of the instrument panel was amazing and wonderful. Sadly, I already take it for granted.)

Date: 2011-12-06 07:42 am (UTC)We had to put our new freezer out on the back porch. It's pretty small, but I'm still thrilled. It's the chest freezer for the frugal vegetarian. Don't need to fit a deer or side of beef in it.
Yes! I forgot that I would carefully peruse the back of the package of my Star Wars figures back in 1979; the whole collection was featured there. :)
