This was a rumor that seemed far to good to be true. But it's just been confirmed!! There's going to be three Hobbit movies now instead of the previously planned two. *dance of joy* I adore Jackson/Boyen/Walsh's Tolkien work.

I just saw that. I'm not sure how it's going to work, but it's good to have things to look forward to. Though I'm a little worried that it will mean no more Sherlock>!

I get the idea that they already have all of the material they need. The just finished shooting and I guess upon reviewing the footage they feel they have three movies worth of story. The 'extended editions' might be shorter though. ;)
