Too much excitement for the pregnant lady. I started out the evening of the 2nd watching the last half of Pearl Harbor followed by the first part of Saving Private Ryan. Then I got a call for a birth tub, so there was much rushing around and soaking of things in bleach and general inexperience. Delivering the tub and getting it set up and being around a laboring woman was all very fun and exciting. Then around 1:30 I got home. And couldn't fall asleep for the life of me. I knew I had a midwife appt. the next day for which I ought to feel well rested, but the prospect of which is enough to wind me up all by itself. I just couldn't shut my brain off, and my body was pestering me with a dozen minor complaints. I heard the clock strike 4 before I finally fell asleep. By the time I got to the midwives, alone because the Civic is having battery trouble, my pulse was over a hundred. So I spit it all out, everything that had happened, and I felt much better. My pulse went back to normal, and I was OK again. It occurred to me that normally I would babble to Alan, but the night before had been too late, and the whole morning he was busy trying to figure the car out so he and Connor could come with me.

The midwives were nice to me this time. They complimented me on my urine. Don't get that everyday. Had nothing bad to say about my diet diary :P. My finger bled well enough when poked and my hematocrit turned out to be very good. The midwife showed me how to grab the baby by the neck and shake its head around while still in the womb. Nothing like starting early, I always say.

Whenever I get punctured I reward myself with ice cream, but Bon Boniere was closed. I ended up getting myself a new pair of earrings instead. This is more of an event than it might seem, because I tend to put in a pair of earrings and wear them for 3 or 4 years. Yes, I do take them out to clean them rather more often than that. But not much. I'm quite disgusting that way.

Aquarium plants today, please?
