I walked down to the post office yesterday for my exercise since I've been off for a week. It was probably 3 miles round trip. My feet got quite sore, and I probably used muscles I haven't used in 10 years or 12. It brought back memories of when I used to walk everywhere, including ones I had forgotten like when it's getting dark, there's still a ways to go, and you really wish someone would just come pick you up and drive you the rest of the way. As it happened, that's actually what occured. Alan was worried about me because it was getting dark so he came and got me. (I was almost home, hah!) Seems my life has improved, that never happened when I was a teenager.
The home visit from the midwives went really well. They were quite impressed with the tarantula. We got out a flashlight so they could check out the fangs. Mom came over to meet them and hung out for awhile which was very nice. She even got to listen to the baby's heartbeat. They complimented Alan's vegetarian gravy, and it was all good. They were very excited about my perhaps getting the tubs approved for use at Mad River. It was a long day and I was thinking tomorrow I would relax, play with Connor, bask in my newly cleaned and spiffied up abode... but there's that meeting. And I didn't get a haircut. And I still don't have a thing to wear. And none of the research articles and info I requested have arrived yet. Oh well. *shrug*
Connor's big thing at the moment is plugs. He's always been into them, but he's got a particularly fine collection together this time: A utility extension cord, a light timer (plugs in and accepts a plug AND has a dial that makes noise), a cordless phone, the base for an electric toothbrush, a uninterruptible power supply, and, last but not least, a power strip to plug 'em all into. (None of these are connected to the power grid at any point). Whatever floats his boat. :) I can't believe he just went and put himself to bed. It's pretty sad when your 2 year old has more sense than you do.
