It was New Year's Eve, the kids were with Grandma, we each had a mixed drink in hand (Milkshakes. Mine was chocolate with Kahlua and bits of frozen Heath bar blended in and a scoop of Snickers ice cream on top.) The projector was projecting. We have a tradition of action/thriller flicks on New Year's, and this year's choice was Star Trek the reboot. I was having a great time, but still I took a moment to think of the less fortunate. "There are probably lots of Trekkers who despise this film," I mused.

"Yes, quite a few," said the Mister.
