You know how they use the sun's gravity well to sling-shot objects far out into the solar system? I managed to do this to my mood by watching the movie Deadfall followed closely by the Katy Perry tour documentary. That was last night, and I still feel a bit giddy. The weather is doing the same, gorgeous, sunny and still, after a week of storming.
Hope you all are having a good Thanksgiving. The Mister's in the kitchen making his famous vegetarian gravy. A pie crust is chilling, and I've made cookies for Great Grandma (overdone with raisins) and everyone else (lightly browned with Ghirardelli chocolate chips). Lately I've been substituting flax seed meal and water for eggs so that 7YO and I can safely gorge on the dough. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, cracker-breaded tempeh/veggie burgers are all in the making. Yum.
I am trying to take it easy though. Too many middle-of-the-night tub deliveries combined with the peak of a bad cold finally laid me low. After a couple of days in bed watching Dalena videos I'm finally feeling more myself, though I still can't talk for long without a horrible coughing fit—and I'm pretty much over Dalena. Vampire Diaries is such a soap!
Life tip: Don't park creatively near a Starbucks. Coffee! Cops! Duh! I was gone less than a minute and returned to find the poor Mister getting a parking lecture.
