Some people
May. 9th, 2013 03:25 pmSome people are very insulated against the cares and concerns of others. Long day yesterday, work and tubs and tub meetings and more tubs. I got home and collapsed and slept around midnight. Slept until all of 7:15 a.m. that is, when the phone rang. That wouldn't be so annoying if the person were having a baby, but they were just gathering information and wanted to ask questions about my service. ME [groggy]: "I'm sorry, but it's a little early for me to chat. You can find all the information you need on my website though." At this point, many people would have apologized for waking me or for calling too early. But I'm learning that some folks are completely deaf to the cares and concerns of others, like certain collectors of creepy giant dolls. HER: "Well, could you tell me..." GRRRR!!! When I crawled back under the covers, I asked the Mister to rate my customer service. He couldn't give me the highest marks. "That's fine," I told him, "I was aiming for 'not openly rude'". Today is one of those days when I debate the merits of taking up coffee drinking. So far I've done the NYT Sunday crossword, drained an abscess on Belloq's behind and then made it all up to him by giving him ear mite medicine, and puttered in my garden. :P I think I will go for a walk with 12YO and then try to take a nap before all of my evening engagements begin.
