It must be love
May. 16th, 2013 10:21 pmThe Mister rose at 5:10 in the morning to escort me to the Annie's Annuals Mother's Day party. "It's like crack isn't it?" one lady said to me as we passed in the aisles of rare and unique plants. These are my people. We listened to the latest Harry Dresden book on the road. The exposition in the last few books makes me want to tear out my hair, as the author papers over the plot holes I don't even care about. Maybe it would be different and less exposition-y if I were reading it myself? Still, I know I'll keep reading them because I care.
I've seen all kind of movies lately. I enjoyed The Great Gatsby though I was drawn to it for purely superficial reasons. It really is beautiful and worth seeing in 3D. So, that shallow, impulsive thing worked out well for me, but not so well for Mr. Gatsby, poor fellow. I read an interesting book recently, How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk. He could have really benefited, and Daisy too, actually.
Iron Man 3 was way better than Iron Man 2, and a great night at the show, but it didn't quite have the strong story that made the first a surprise success. Still, I adore the character. Finally, Star Trek. I liked it way much. Again not quite as strong as the first movie, but very, very entertaining, plus has transformed me into twice the BC fangirl I was before. My, that man does evil very well. I can't wait to hear him as Smaug. And now I'm off to enjoy the rest of my final kid-free evening.
