My mom dragged me into one of those Everything Smelly 4 Ur Bath & Bod stores at the mall. I like pretty smells thinks I. Why should my car smell of month-old beach towels, sacks of manure compost, or hospital disinfectant? Sitting here, three days later, reeking intensely and inescapably of Cinnamon Frosting TM... I can think of a few good reasons. It's ugly when scented oils go wrong. In general I rolled a lot of ones in the month of October. But it ended on a high note. Halloween was a blast. There was trick-or-treating, Minecraft-themed pumpkins, feasting and merriment. After mounds of candy had been acquired, we watched the 1949 Disney Sleepy Hollow as an appetizer before moving on to Ghostbusters. And while one should think very, very carefully before attempting to alter the scent of one's vehicle interior, you can never go wrong with a high school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. 13YO and I went to see one on Saturday night and had a blast.

I had a friend make scented candles for the holidays last year. Her house smelled overwhelmingly of like cheap rose scented soap for months. Count yourself lucky it was just the car.

Yay to an excellent Halloween and a great high school production of anything. My brother was in lead roles in high school and we had to sit through a lot of awful plays and musicals.

It was so nice of you guys to support him. :) I guess it depends on one's definition of great. I can imagine some excruciating amateur musical efforts. But it's hard to go wrong with A Midsummer Night's Dream as long as it's approached with a good spirit. I got some really deep laughs out of it, and I treasure a state of helpless amusement.
