I found the snake!
May. 24th, 2014 12:29 pmJeff the baby corn snake has been AWOL from his tank for a few days. We've been worried the cat would get him or that he would crawl into the heating ducts and starve. But I lifted the winter coats out of a laundry basket and there he was! Much rejoicing, and the edition of weights to the tank lid.
In other news, the Mister and I road tripped south. He found us a camp ground near the San Jose valley. Unbeknownst to us, the road turned into something a bit like driving along the edge of a skyscraper. I am terrified of heights so that was white-knuckled. But, just over the crest were rolling grasslands and live oaks with the observatory gleaming white on the next ridge, and waking up to golden sunlight, dueling woodpeckers and wild turkeys.
My spring annuals are going gangbusters. Pics soon I hope.
