Jul. 7th, 2002 08:10 pmMy bank accounts are down by 1. Two to go.
The search for a homebirth midwife begins. The problem is that while midwivery has been legal in CA since 1993, they are required to have a doctor's supervision and no doctor's malpractice insurance will cover the activity of supervising a homebirth midwife, hence no legal midwives. I still miss my gym and I miss my midwife. CO actually had semi-sane laws about this, and had a flourishing midwivery community.
I'm going back to school after this kid. These generic jobs are just dumb. I was blessed with a decent brain, I ought to save my sanity and put it to some use at the same time. Since it is on my mind, I have again been considering midwivery, but while I am passionate about homebirth and babies and such, am not bothered by messy details, and have a good head for biological info, I just don't like interfacing with people all that much. That's a pretty key part of the job. But, who knows.
