Jul. 10th, 2002 12:21 pmNew Thing I Learned: Hydrogen Peroxide bubbles on cuts because the enzyme catalase from blood and damaged cells efficiently converts H2O2 into H2 and O2, not because it is causing bacteria to explode as I so fondly imagined. In fact it doesn't really kill bacteria all that well, but cleans cuts nicely enough and looks cool while doing it, which is more than most of us can manage eh?
Connor and I had a morning snack together at about 5. It was very companionable as we cuddled up in bed together and sipped our milk. Up until recently I would nurse him and not have to get up, but the sore nipple issue has led to him essentially being weaned and I'm generally in the mood for something myself these days anyway. Didn't feel nearly so fine when I woke around 7. Bleh. I woke Alan and he kindly fixed me some PB&J on toast for me, which I was able to contemplate after a bit. Milkshake, I want a milkshake.
Found a midwife. Why do they always live way out in the boonies? As I took down half a page of written directions I was definitely experiencing deja vu. I want a milkshake really badly!!!!!
