A while back Connor had an accident and while I was stripping off his wet clothes I noticed he looked sad about it. I wanted to reassure him that I wasn't angry so I said, "Are you Mom's sweetie-pea?" "Yah!" he grinned, "Mom's swee-e-pea." Encouraged, I kept going. "Are you Grandma's sweetheart, Tim's buddy, Dad's little guy? It worked magic on his mood. For awhile afterward, when things were particularly rocky, I would initiate this comforting mantra of the people who love him to bits. He's starting to grow out of it now, he doesn't say it along with me anymore, it would be nice if he's also grown over it and carries it with him.

Good news! Alan figured out how to adjust the projector. There's the adjustments the manufacturer allows the uninitiated to make and then there is a Secret Service Menu. You can only get to this menu by pressing a combination of buttons and only folks with real service manuals know what those buttons are. Of course, these days it's folks with real service manuals and folks with access to the internet and a good search engine. The final clue was that the buttons had to be held down for a few seconds. After that it didn't take Alan long to figure out which buttons. Now the picture looks all spiffy again.

I hope we get some money today. I not only like getting money in general, but I also like all the stuff that goes along with recording the checks. I get to scan the check, record it in 4 different places (cash rec'd, acc'ts receivable, business checking, personal checking), and put a virtual PAID stamp on the PDF of the invoice. I swear I have the soul of an accountant. I Love bookkeeping, it's really wrong. This month I have only gotten to process 3 checks. I pointed out to Alan that this averages to a wait of about ten days between checks, more than a week! He laughed at me, and offered to ask one of his clients to send one check per invoice, spaced a couple of days apart. :P

Yay love! :) That's very cute, and cool.

There's nothing wrong with accountancy... Your Kink Is OK. ;) Sarah's the same way, she's obsessively infatuated with keeping track of montly bills and numbers and writing everything down in color-coded booklets with tabs... heh. My timesheet is due today; I have to add up the number of tapes I did, how much time they took, and how many pages they were, and I'm resisting for all I'm worth - even though it's what I'll get paid from. It takes all kinds, I guess. ;)
