New Thing(s) I Learned: The community of Shelter Cove originated as a land scam in the 70's and is still scamming people.
We found a piece of property maybe. This is absolutely terrifying. There are so many ways to screw up when buying unimproved property. Maybe it won't perc, maybe it has a fault running too close to it, maybe it won't have a successful well, maybe the county doesn't want any houses on it, maybe the county wants only duplexes. Eeee! It doesn't help that the realtor is aggressive. I'm already a millimeter from bolting. I like the way the realtor offers to represent my interests. My understanding is that realtors are house salespeople and can no more be the buyer's advocate than a car salesperson. However, they seem much more likely to explicitly represent themselves as such.

Aidan has literally slept through a parade. Fire engines honking, sirens blaring, he didn't even twitch. If he is pressed closely to his mother, nipple in mouth, pretty much nothing can wake him. Lay him on his back by himself, and a whisper will jolt him awake, much to the chagrin of the whisperer. I guess there is an excellent pragmatism here. If he is next to his mother, he is in his safest situation. He can do nothing to improve it, so why waste energy that could be better used to double in size within a few weeks? I suppose that is why thumb sucking. It is comforting because it simulates this most secure of situations in some small way.

Can't stay entirely away from him if we want that property. There's the listing agent that has agreed to sell the property for a percentage. That's him. Then any agent that brings in the buyer gets a percentage. If the listing agent and the 'buyer finding' agent are the same, then they get both chunks of change, so he has incentive to want to 'represent' me. But he ain't gonna. There are such animals as buyer agents that represent buyers exclusively and never sellers, so they don't try and do a hard sell on 'their' properties to buyers that come their way.

Fortuna Rodeo Parade. :)
