Some years ago I read a book on sexuality through the ages and a quote from a woman accused of witchcraft is still with me. She claimed she had had congress with the Devil Himself, a delusion that no doubt was very costly. When you're accused of witchcraft, really you just can't win: while "the Devil's mark" made by a demon's finger on a woman's body was certain proof that you were a witch, if you sported no such mark you might be even more suspicious, since your spotless hide might be considered evidence that you enjoyed a position of special trust in the Kingdom of Evil. Anyway, this unfortunate women went into great detail about her exploits with the Big Bad and specifically described the feel of his semen. You guessed it, cold, like ice water. Lucifer's got to be a popular guy-about-town in his warm abode. So the cold (dead) seed kink has a long and colorful history.

And I guess it is a kink. (I know, I'm a little slow.) I mean, a lot of folks don't trouble their fictional vampires with elimination. Why have them ejaculate unless it's sexy in some way? And that kind of surprised me, I would have guessed most women would prefer less mess. Perhaps they do, what people like to fantasize about liking is often different from what they actually like.

Uh, bleeding (minor, not me), must go.

I would think most women would be happy to do without the mess. In fact plenty of men I know would too. Although in visual porn directed at men, there seems a lot of focus on seeing the ejaculate, the reality is it's sticky and hard to get out of fabric and gets smelly and is overall just not very nice to deal with. In visual media one doesn't have to deal with any of that, so I believe it's meant as a representation of how hot the sex is - and moreso because it "proves" they're not faking it like in mainstream love scenes. I would guess written erotica also considers it representative - "this here be some serious sex, and here's one way we let you know."

Personally, when I read a scene involving lots of goo, it tends to lose me a bit as part of my brain starts to fantasize about taking a shower and doing my laundry. ;)

Hee! The reason in visual porn might be more prosaic. I just saw an interview with Katie Morgan and she said that she always discusses ground rules with her co-stars before filming and one of her rules is that they can come anywhere on her, but not in her. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is pretty standard among porn stars, and that may be why the guys in the lone porno I've watched were either wearing condoms or pulled out and came on the woman.

Personally, I have the come kink, the mess doesn't bother me for whatever reason, though visual porn doesn't do it for me. That one movie I watched, I felt like I was watching some strange mix of the Discovery Channel and community theater. I thought it was cool because I felt like the actors were enjoying what they were doing, maybe not as much as they were pretending to enjoy what they were doing, but in the same way actors have fun and enjoy entertaining other people, but it just wasn't a turn on for me.

I had never seen any porn (filmed, that is) until about 2 years ago. Then I read quite a bit for a short while of porn reviews & interviews with porn stars, out of curiosity and to find titles that would interest me.

It seems the visual ejaculation thing came partly from wanting to push boundaries, try to shock the viewers. This is also why every blow job in porn nowadays is "deep throat." Apparently it was a nonstarter before the movie of that name, but afterward, it became de rigueur. (They use throat-deadening sprays to reduce the gag factor ...)

Anyway, I think safer sex practices are a good thing, and (relative) safety is one of the reasons they don't ejaculate inside. But given the reviews I read, it's also a big visual kink for lots of men. Having "facials" where the man ejaculates on the woman's face has also become de rigueur, after initially being done for its shock value. (Alas, it's easy to get an eye infection if it lands there.)

It always amazes me to see a scene where the man uses a condom, then quickly pulls it off to ejaculate directly onto the woman's private parts!! Doesn't this defeat the purpose of the condom in the first place?

Now, what does my rambling have to do with your initial post ... evidently, ejaculate is a very sexy thing to lots of people. And there's the fact that in vampire porn no one has to worry about pregnancy or disease, so instead of semen being contained in a little penis raincoat, it can be released with no harm to anyone (other than the laundry). I think that's pretty sexy right there ... sex without worry of pregnancy, disease, or reduced sensation due to a condom!
