Writing Stuff

I went back and read through chapters 1-8 or so of Between Two Evils in an attempt to get back in the groove. Frankly, it cries out desperately for a beta reader and maybe a plot. And maybe I'm just not in the right mood, but it seemed kind of awful and doesn't start to pick up IMO until they get to Nephalem. I apologize for the lack of plot dear readers! This is what happens when you set out to write some crack, become self-conscious somewhere along the way, and fail to come up with a plot line or two. Persephone began much the same way, but I was happily provided with circumstances which saved the fic from utter suckage: 1) I had the bestest beta reader EVER in the history of the universe 2) Buffy still has to save Sunnydale from the forces of evil which gives her something somewhat interesting to do while she 3) figures out where Spike is going to fit into the picture as he 4) figures out same.

I do plan to keep going with BTE. :/ It is getting better. I think. *flails*

Heh. The part of someone who knows the characters could probably be played by a recording that just says: 'Make him more evil' over and over again. :P

It's important to accept the fact that if I write, I will write that which is not so good so this is good exercise. Yes? Yes.

*sighs* Why do most fanfic writers think their stuff isn't up to snuff. I tell you again. I Think story is THE best I've have ever read about L/A. It has alot going for it than you think. This 'thing' has more drama, more insight into Lotor himself, more insight into Allura herself, more depth, more of everything than anything I've seen out there in a long time. Your story shows the thoughtfulness and time you have put in. A plot? Oh my dear lovely Botias, your wonderful tale has more than maybe you realize. It just deals with Allura trying to cope day to day, moment to moment, being in her situation. Being Lotor's wife, seeing into her mind-her thoughts and feelings and sudden realizations about this man she may never would have guess before. Lotor-the same in his situation. They deal with issues they never have had before 'cause they both probably thought their 'marriage' would never happen. You give it a kinda fantasical realism, in a way. They are a few stories out there dealing with this situation, but kinda all in the same way. You are different. Which is good. I trust you will fine your way again, my dear. And trust in your faithful critics who review each chapter. They are not wrong. It IS good. Please, please don't lose hope. You're almost there.

Thanks so much for your kind comments. I appreciate them very much. I don't know why most all writers are so insecure. And no, I don't think my readers are wrong. Maybe it's because readers can enjoy the work for what it is and don't have any ego or vulnerability bound up with it, neither are they comparing it to what the writer hoped it would be, or wished it was. I need to 'just do it!'. :)
