My gamble paid off. It was a treat to be able to zoom through books 1-7 of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I liked the books' conversational style, wry tone, and nummy vampires. Plus, I find myself not shipping anyone, which is kind of a relief. Amazon reviews tell me there may be troubled waters ahead for the series though. While fun, the books have their flaws, and it sounds like those flaws rise up and conquer in book 8. Ah, well.

Pleased with the books, I acquired Season One of True Blood. I'm finding their casting a little off-putting to tell the truth.

In a way the rushedness keeps the dark subject matter from being a downer because you don't get as emotionally engaged. Sometimes tell not show is a plus!

Yes! I like my choice better too, and I want Sookie to be played by BUFFY. Pls can I has? Or maybe Kristen Bell? *wishes and dreams*
