Drugs are bad...
Mar. 8th, 2012 07:42 pmProhibition is worse by a factor of 100. I'm a recreational drug prude, but my drug politics are now about as Northern European as it gets. A few weeks ago, 'moonshiners' blew up their apartment on the next block, so close that my house was full of smoke. Not only did they burn themselves severely, all the other people in the building lost their homes and at least one lost a beloved pet. Tonight, my now ex-tenant told me it was the gang activity in the apartment across the alley that inspired them to move. GRRRRRR!!! I think I will send a newspaper clipping about the explosion to the alley apt's out-of-state owner. I believe that addiction should be treated as a medical and psychological problem rather than a moral failing. Imagine all the power and money that would be taken away from criminals and MEEN people, and how much less crime and desperation there would be. Less HIV and Hepatitis, too.
ETA: I think I must to retire to my bed with some Downton Abbey and possibly ice cream, right after I list my rental on Craigslist.
