Buffy Season 8

botiasThe buzz is growing about the coming Buffy Season 8 comics.
I think the comics are canon cuz Joss says they are. It's his baby. But, as much as I love BtVS, I won't be lining up. For one utterly lame reason, I saw the 'sneak peaks' and was rather turned off by Buffytarted dressed up like Michael Jackson in the nineties a comic book heroine. Guess the comic book folks couldn't afford a wardrobe person, or Buffy joined The Initiative or... she took up rock climbing? dressed up as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween? I just don't know, but it's not my fantasy.
For another, I am a pathetic Spuffy shipper. Canonically those two crazy kids are forever divided by licensing agreements, a few thousand miles and all good sense.
Finally, and not quite so lame, I get tired for characters that I care about. For there to keep being stories about them, their lives have to continue to be fraught and tragic. If they've done their tour of duty and then some, I'd just as soon they retired, even though it means I will never hear about them again.
