Slaving on my rental's landscaping has gotten me inspired, so I measured my backyard and made a Plan. The outlined areas will be raised beds. I haven't decided on materials yet. I will also have to take out a patio sort of thing and a 18 foot long wall of ivy. There are probably spiders in it that will try and climb on me. Ick. But, I must be brave.

I can't believe I have so much yard all to my own self!! :D

There will be herbs, and corn flowers, and deeply colored snapdragons. Pineapple Sage bushes as tall as me, and the kids will pull off their flowers and drink the drop of nectar from the tiny red straws. Buddleias, catmints and lavendars of all sorts. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, but with 99% less 60's pop folk-rock. I like things with scented foliage and that attract bees and butterflies and hummingbirds. I'm also hoping to grow lettuce, and squash and baby corn. Apparently lettuce can be grown year-round around here.

It sounds gorgeous. I must admit I don't know a thing about gardening even though my dad and little sister actually do know what they're about. My dad keeps our roses, ivy, calla lilies & so forth looking nice, and my little sister grows veggies in her backyard.

I don't know if I know anything about gardening. I get lots of plants and the ones that thrive are the ones that are a good match for me. I don't like poisons or daily watering, so plants that are attacked by bugs, or wilt if not watered more often than weekly, I must bid adieu to. Fortunately, I like herbs which are basically weeds that smell or taste good.
