Spring

First it was the geese, and then on January 29 it was the robins. I didn't even notice when the robins left last year, but then I looked out the window that morning and there was one in the plum tree. They were everywhere that day, and now most of them seem to have moved on to parts north. Today the blossoms on the plum tree are starting to open; in few weeks there will be little pink snowflakes falling past my window. And spring is on my flist all of the sudden, everyone seems ready. One person is painting their toenails in wistful anticipation; another is planting their first garden seeds; a few remark on days of balmy weather that whet their anticipation. Happy 'spring is a lot closer than it was in December' everyone! :)

I have to admit - I'm shocked with the idea of spring in Feb. My part of the world (Maryland) doesn't see spring till mid-end of April.

It this usual weather for you? When does winter start?

It is the usual weather for me. It's hard to say when winter starts. December? We actually get a few hard frosts Dec/Jan. Tender stuff can be planted outside with confidence in mid-March. I live on the California coast.
